Repodrop was a private git repository hosting platform that closed down in 2017. The main motivation behind building Repodrop was at the time Github were charging a lot if you had a lot of private repositories. We built a platform that offered unlimited git repositories for a fixed low monthly fee, but since Github now offer a similar service there was no point in continuing. We achieved a number of loyal customers paying the monthly fee but over time they disappeared back to Github.
It was a great learning experience building the platform in a distributed way with dedicated "Storage nodes" and working out how to provide access in a distrbuted way via SSH. We may clean up the code and release it as open source in the future.
